About Litlover
Litlover's mission is to publish emerging, regional (from any area of the country), self-made poets and allow them to advertise readings, publications, and awards through a link to their own blog, website, or Facebook page to appear under Poets' Sites page above.
What makes us unique is two things. First, we look for the "barefoot rank" of the poetry world, as beloved Emily called herself, and we are not connected to any college or university, nor do we get grant funding. In fact, we don't get any funding at all, which truly makes us grass roots, which does not mean lesser quality (see Submissions page about quality).
Secondly, we publish the work of poets in both video and print media. Most sites or publications tend to focus only on one medium. We would like our site to involve multimedia wherever possible.
We will not turn down submissions from so-called "establishment" or "academic" poets, but our main claim to fame is the "promotion" if you will of the barefoot rank.
No compensation can be made to poets for publication of poets' work, except through the publication of their work in Litlover along with the ability to promote themselves where appropriate (see above). The ability to promote oneself for free is the equivalent of getting paid if people buy your work.
